Text
Located along the west side of 13th Street, the Alden, Babcock, and Calvert Apartments are a group of three early middle-class apartment buildings designed as a unit by architect and developer Edgar S. Kennedy and built in 1904.
The buildings illustrate the evolution of apartment buildings from row house precedents and retain turrets and bays of the Victorian era, but with feature Colonial Revival facades and a front lawn reflecting early 20th-century suburban ideals.
